Also known as a potager or vegetable garden, a kitchen garden is a small garden that includes raised garden beds planted with vegetables, herbs, fruits and perennials that are cultivated for culinary dishes and flower bouquets. It provides easy access to fresh ingredients for cooking and is a source for organic and homegrown produce.

There are many factors that go into determining the cost of a kitchen garden. For reference a garden with TWO high quality raised cedar beds (4’x8’x16”), 1 arch trellis, soil, plants, gravel, steppers, metal edging, automated irrigation system and labor will cost approximately $7500.

After the initial meeting, you will receive your design and estimate within a few days. If everything is approved, the garden installation happens within 2-3 weeks and will take 1-3 days days depending on the size.

We work year around weather permitting. It’s optimal to have the garden installed during winter so that you are ready to plant in the spring!
-
First and foremost, the site needs to have at least 6 hours of sunlight. It’s recommended that the site also be close to the house/kitchen for easier maintenance and water access.
-
The material (stone, cedar, steel) used for the raised beds is untreated. The soil that we use has no synthetic chemicals and is considered organic. Our seeds and plants are purchased from reputable vendors to ensure they are organic and thrive in St. Louis. Regarding pest control, it’s up to the homeowner to decide whether products are organic.
